Valentine's Day is great, in my humble opinion. People tend to brush off love as unimportant but I believe it's something very important. I love my family and my friends and you should all know that. It might be just one day a year set apart in recognition of love, but so is Mother's Day and I celebrate that as well as love my mum all year long. So go out there and share the love! Besides, those of you who are lucky enough to have a significant other should really be appreciating this day being set apart to honor that.

Sorry that I wasn't able to see you for Christmas or New Years. I've actually got something for you that I picked up while in Romania. I hope you don't mind wearing old jewelry. It was made by some Romanian Gypsies and I thought of you when I saw it. I'd like to give it to you in person because there's something important I'd like to talk to you about. Things are getting more and more dangerous and my family typically has targets on our backs because of where we come from and our stand on things, so it would end up enveloping you too.

It's a relief that things have improved with Harry. It's hugely quiet around here and that's very unnatural for a house filled with Weasleys. I've been putting all my time into helping family now that I'm practically unemployed, so I think I've neglected my friends. If there is anything that one needs, let me know! I've got lots of time on my hands right now and in between running watch guard rounds with my brothers, I can make stops elsewhere.

So Mum is determined to do the dinner and cake tradition this Saturday. Being home for my birthday is something new and it's been awhile since I've had one of her amazing birthday cakes. Anyone who wants to stop by to be stuffed with good food and company is welcome. I'll just tell Mum that she might be cooking for a small army.
So if it isn't obvious, I've officially made the move back to England. Luckily my employers in Romania were understanding and willing to put my employment status on hold until I return; whenever that may be. I need to be here with family during all of this. I was already serious about the idea but the attack on Perce just solidified it.

Looks like I'll be headed to England tomorrow. The reserve needs to clear some things up with the British Ministry of Magic. Poaching doesn't happen very often but it does happen, and the blokes we caught this time are Brits. Would have just handed them off to the local Ministry here for their punishment but things can be very harsh here. They got lucky and the British Ministry caught wind of them and stepped in claiming them as citizens and all that bullshit. Personally? I'd have fed them to the dragons they were trying to kill.
I was hoping to visit some friends and family while I'm in the country. Let me know if we can meet up. I'll be here for about four days I think. As always, I'll be staying with my parents while I'm around. If I didn't then I would get an ear full from my mum!

Glad my family is still safe through all of this. Kills me to know that I can't help while I'm here in Romania working. I've a few extra beds if anyone needed to crash far from home for awhile. Not a fantastic offer, nothing like flying off to Italy or some other vacationers paradise, but it's a quiet escape.

Had a bit of a nasty run-in with a horntail that wasn't supposed to be in the area. She was last seen a days flight away from our location and was supposed to be under surveillance. She's new to us and having a hard time adjusting, like they all do, so she's in a bit of a foul mood. Anyway, we were setting up a new location for an outpost when she found us, took us by surprise and nearly lost a couple of veterans in the fight that followed. We got her down and moved to a more secure location until she can simmer down. Put her in the corner, so to speak.
Only got a small burn, nothing serious, I'm more concerned about the critically injured than myself right now. Lost my wand in the fight and had to hike for a few days to base just to be able to find out if those men were even alive. Will have to get a new wand tomorrow. Today; I will sleep.
